Carnival in Bonaire

A little background is in order to set the stage for this photograph. Bonaire is a special place in the southern Caribbean. My wife, Barbe, and I visit there to experience the wonderful scuba diving and the change of pace you only find close to the equator. Bonairean people are wonderfully hospitable and full of life.

Last week I had the opportunity to attend their Carnival Parade. What a place to be a photographer! The spirit, color and vibrance of the Caribbean people was overwhelming. This is one photograph of several that I will be sharing from that experience.

I'm Back

Blue Water Photography has evolved since my last post about ten months ago. Portraiture and event photography, including weddings, reunions and such, have become the focus of the business. In addition, you will notice significant changes to my website. Thanks to the hard work and patience of Brian and Beth at Spoonfed Group, LLC, the website has beome more dynamic and functional.

Underwater and travel photography continue to be major interests. You will see examples of this on future posts. In fact, I am writing this from Portland International Airport as I head to the tropics for a few weeks of underwater photography.

I will be providing regular posts to share some of my photographic experiences. I believe photography is about sharing a story. I am pleased to share mine with you.

Thank you for checking back. Stay tuned for frequent updates.

Welcome to Blue Water Photography

Blue Water Photography is now two years old. I have been successful in making the transition from management and personnel consulting to full-time professional photography. Photography takes me into a variety of situations and environments.
This blog is my attempt to share those experiences with my clients, colleagues and friends. It is my good fortune to be involved in many types of photography. I do commercial photography and graphic design for the business community, wedding and event photography and nature photography, including wildlife, landscape and underwater work.
I believe it is important to share techniques and processes with others in the photography community. I will be discussing my successes and those experiences that don't quite go as planned. From time to time I have the opportunity to travel, particularly for diving and underwater photography. While on the road I will post updates as time and circumstances permit.
I appreciate your interest and look forward to our travels together. It will be an interesting journey.
